In the world of international cricket there are a lot of teams, but not all are strong However, their passion and commitment to the game are evident. This article focuses on two teams: the Nepal National Cricket Team and the Mongolia National Cricket Team, two teams who are creating their own place within the world of cricket. Nepal National Cricket Team
Nepal is fast becoming an international team that is gaining recognition cricket. They play in two formats One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). But, they are yet to attain Test status. The team is led by captain Rohit Paudel, and coached by Monty Desai, Nepal has seen significant progress over the last few years. The country is currently ranked 17th both in ODI as well as T20I format by ICC.
Nepal had their very first international ODI in the Netherlands in the year 2018 and they played their latest ODI took place with their counterparts in the Netherlands to be played in 2024. Their T20I journey started in 2014, with a game in Hong Kong, and they have recently played Bangladesh for the first time in 2024. Their consistent performances have earned them respect and recognition within the cricket world.
Mongolia National Cricket Team
Mongolia is a brand newcomer to international cricket. They have played their first game against Nepal. Although they faced a difficult start, that ended in a loss Mongolia’s determination to improve their performance is evident. Their first T20I match took place in September 2023, against Nepal and their most recent T20I match was against Japan at the end of May in 2024. Although Mongolia has not yet secured the win, their frequent participation in matches is a good indication of their growth.
Mongolia’s cricket team is helmed by Luvsanzundui Erdenebulgan. Joseph Bull serving as the head coach. At present, they are ranked 82nd in all of the globe, Mongolia is only playing in the T20I format. Their commitment towards the game and continued playing are expected to improve their performance and increase their competitiveness as time passes.
