Theegala Targets Strong Start at Procore Championship

Theegala

Sahith Theegala is hoping to get back to the fire in his PGA Tour campaign after being affected with injuries from 2025. In the coming week Theegala will return to his regular location at his Procore Championship, previously known as the Fortinet Championship, which he took home in 2023.

The event that kicks on the PGA Tour’s fall calendar between FedEx Cup Playoffs and the commencement for the season 2026 has a special significance for Theegala. He took his first and sole PGA Tour victory at this event in 2023. He then followed that up with a solid T-7 finish in the previous year.

Now recovering from a neck strain that affected the majority of 2025’s season, Theegala considers the Fall season as a key opportunity to get back his foot at the top of the Tour. While he did make an appearance in the late season in The Open and a few other tournaments, the player struggled to get back into top form. This year’s Procore Championship offers a fresh opportunity to play.

Alongside him on the field is another emerging player Akshay Bhatia. Despite a few ups and downs in the 2025 season Bhatia was able to earn his place in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings, earning admission to the Signature Events for the coming season. Although he was not able to make an appearance on the US Ryder Cup team, which was a goal to achieve in 2025 Bhatia will be focusing on an impressive start to the Fall season in order to re-establish his momentum.

The upcoming Procore Championship features a notably solid lineup, with the World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leading the field. Other notable names include Russell Henley, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, JJ Spaun, Ben Griffin, and Patrick Cantlay. A number of Ryder Cup team members are participating, and taking part in the competition as the final practice before the highly regarded team event.

More than dozen participants from the 2025 FedEx Cup Top-50 rankings are scheduled to play in Napa to highlight the event’s increasing significance.

For a number of players like Theegala the season of fall is a crucial time to make the most of. J.J. Spaun is a excellent example. His amazing Fall performances in 2024 elevated him from 98th place in the FedEx Cup standings into the Aon Next 10. He then dominated at Signature Events and majors, which led to him being selected for the Ryder Cup team.

The new season is beginning to form, Theegala and others are hoping to make use of Procore Championship Procore Championship as a launchpad for their own success. (ANI).
